Les roms de Stolipinovo
With its newly rebuilt downtown center, Plovdiv, the third town of Bulgaria, is one of the two « 2019 European Capitals of Culture". But in the district of Stolipinovo, the biggest roma ghetto of Europe, the tens of thousands of inhabitants are bitter. While the 2.5 millions euros social integration program targeting the district weighed strongly in the balance for the city to win its title, nothing really happens here. Forgotten of all, they still pill up in derelicted buildings and in the absence of decent conditions to live here, dream of only one thing : going abroad.
